Men's hormone health and low testosterone care in Florida
A careful, physician-led evaluation for men in Florida with symptoms that may be related to low testosterone. Diagnosis is based on symptoms and confirmed lab results, and male hormone replacement is considered only when it is medically indicated.
Florida patients only: The clinician is licensed in Florida only, and care is available only to patients located in Florida. Services are not available in other states.
Booking opens the secure SimplePractice patient portal in a new tab. First-time evaluations for this service use a Video Visit. On the booking page, choose “Men's Hormone Health / Low T Evaluation (Video)”, a 30-minute video visit.
Who this service is for
This service is for men located in Florida who are noticing changes that may be related to hormones, such as:
- low energy or fatigue that does not improve with rest;
- lower sex drive or erectile changes;
- changes in mood, focus, or motivation;
- loss of muscle strength or increased body fat.
These symptoms are common and have many possible causes, including sleep problems, stress, thyroid conditions, medications, and other health issues. Part of the evaluation is looking for those causes, not just checking a single number.
What your visit covers
In your first visit, the clinician reviews your symptoms, medical history, medications and supplements, sleep, and any prior lab work. You will also talk about your goals, including whether you are planning to have children, because some hormone treatments can affect fertility.
Labs come first
Low testosterone cannot be diagnosed from symptoms alone. Testing usually includes a morning testosterone level, often repeated on a separate day to confirm results. Depending on your history, the clinician may also suggest tests such as free testosterone, LH and FSH, a complete blood count, a metabolic panel, a lipid panel, or a PSA when appropriate. See routine labs for how lab ordering and review work.
Hormone therapy when indicated
If symptoms and confirmed labs point to low testosterone, the clinician will discuss treatment options, including whether male hormone replacement is appropriate for you. Testosterone therapy is not right for everyone. Possible risks the clinician will review include reduced sperm production and fertility, a rise in red blood cell count, acne, fluid retention, effects on sleep apnea, and the need for prostate and cardiovascular monitoring.
Hormone therapy is considered only to treat a confirmed medical need. It is not offered for athletic performance or bodybuilding. A prescription is never guaranteed, and treatment requires regular follow-up and monitoring labs.
Video Visit or Text Visit?
Please book a Video Visit for your first hormone evaluation. A first-time hormone evaluation typically needs a live conversation and lab testing. Text Visits are reserved for a short list of simple, qualifying acute concerns (upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, gout, and ear infection). Hormone follow-ups generally use Video Visits, and the clinician will let you know if another follow-up format is appropriate for you.
What to expect
- Request a Video Visit through the secure SimplePractice patient portal.
- Meet with the clinician to review symptoms and history.
- Complete recommended labs, usually in the morning.
- Review results together and decide on next steps, which may or may not include treatment.
When to seek in-person or emergency care
Call 911 or go to the nearest ER for chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, trouble speaking, or a painful, swollen leg. Some findings, such as an abnormal PSA or a very high red blood cell count, may need in-person follow-up or a specialist referral.
Many men with hormone concerns also ask about erectile dysfunction care or medical weight management.
Clinical decisions, including whether treatment may include a prescription, are made after evaluation. Nothing on this site guarantees a prescription or a particular outcome.
Men's Hormone Health & Low Testosterone FAQ
Do I need lab work to be evaluated for low testosterone?
Yes. Low testosterone is diagnosed using both symptoms and lab results, usually a morning testosterone level that is often repeated to confirm. The clinician may recommend additional tests based on your history.
Will I definitely be prescribed testosterone?
No. Male hormone replacement is considered only when symptoms and confirmed labs show it is medically indicated and the benefits outweigh the risks for you. Prescriptions are never guaranteed.
Can testosterone therapy affect fertility?
Yes. Testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production. If you are planning to have children, tell the clinician so this can be part of the decision.
Can my first hormone visit be a Text Visit?
No. Please book a Video Visit for a first-time hormone evaluation. Text Visits are reserved for a short list of simple, qualifying acute concerns.
